I went to art school back in the day but around January of this year, and under the muse and mentorship of Steven Hammel, I got into doing paint by numbers kits, both modern (yuk) and vintage (yay) kits I’d buy on eBay. Then, I started collaging them, distorting them, and finally, once my love of heavy body gloss finish acrylic paint was cemented, I started making my own original work on wood slabs and on small canvases. 

I know. It keeps me off my phone and I like having a little easel on my lap when I’m loafing on the couch, half-watching something. 

I paint things I’m passionate about or remember fondly from my pop culture and junk food-blessed childhood.

Size, time spent, materials (wood block versus canvas) and how much I don’t want to part with a piece all play into my figuring out the material value of each one of a kind piece.

Some of the stuff I posted I learned later that I didn’t have the heart to part with! So I’ll make prints of those pieces and sell them here and on my Instagram page. Stay tuned.

Probably not just because I don’t to disappoint somebody with a painting of a dog that doesn’t completely look like their dog, but listen, anything is possible. Email me a pitch and a price and I’ll let you know if I can swing it!
